Mindfulness can help people with voice disorders reduce and manage stress, physical tension and pain or discomfort, social and emotional isolation, and feelings of loss. Practicing mindfulness in a group with a trained instructor has been shown to produce better outcomes than practicing alone.
This curriculum has been tested in a research study of mindfulness in people with voice disorders. Articles about the research have been published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Voice and in Dysphonia International’s newsletter.
Mindfulness may not be appropriate for participants who: 1) have an active addiction, 2) are suicidal, or 3) have untreated psychosis, PTSD, depression, or anxiety that would interfere with their ability to complete the course. If you have questions about whether mindfulness is appropriate for you, please contact Catherine.
Participants who sign up by December 31, 2026 can pay in four installments of $100 each. The first payment is due at checkout, and the others are charged automatically at one-month intervals. All payments are non-refundable.
