Mindfulness teacher and vocologist Catherine Kay Brown is passionate about supporting people with voice disorders through mindfulness.
She created this website with voice specialist SLP Julia Gerhard.
Julia Gerhard, DMA, CCC-SLP, is a voice clinician (voice specialist speech-language pathologist) who works in private practice as well as with the voice team at the University of Miami. She holds a DMA in vocal performance and a MA in Communication Sciences.
Julia advises on clinical matters and is a special guest during the 8-week mindfulness course.
Catherine Kay Brown is a voice teacher and a mindfulness instructor. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Applied Mindfulness and is a PAVA-Recognized Vocologist. She is also an adjunct voice instructor at Immaculata University.
Her research on the effects of an 8-week mindfulness course in people with voice disorders has been published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Voice. She holds a B.A. in music and German.
Catherine runs the 8-week mindfulness course and drop-in meditations. She has vocal fold paresis and sulcus and has recovered from muscle tension dysphonia. Read more about her story.
